Composite samples of 20 food groups arising from the UK 2006 Total Diet Study were analysed by inductively coupled plasma - mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) for 24 elements. The elements measured were aluminium, antimony, arsenic, barium, bismuth, cadmium, chromium, copper, germanium, indium, lead, manganese, mercury, molybdenum, nickel, palladium, platinum, rhodium, ruthenium, selenium, strontium, thallium, tin and zinc. Inorganic arsenic analysis was also carried out for all samples to allow comparison with data collected as part of the 1999 TDS.
The results have been published within the TDS itself.
