This research has demonstrated that the measurement uncertainty methodology used in the physical sciences can be applied, with little modification, to the process of procuding chronic and acute estimated daily intakes for additives and chemical compounds in foods. The uncertainty calculations and the EDIs themselves are not trivial and rely on a combination of available data and subjective judgement
