This project has investigated the migration of metal ions from a number of  metalware food contact materials into a range of foodstuffs and potential food  simulants to enable recommendations to be made for a soundly-based protocol  to test metalware for metal release (migration) to foods. Currently no migration  tests are recommended for metalware food contact materials.
