Code of Practice to reduce fusarium mycotoxins in cereals

Under certain conditions, cereals can be contaminated with fusarium mycotoxins (developing mainly in the field) and ochratoxin A (developing normally during storage). Both of these mycotoxins are harmful to humans and European Commission (EC) Regulations set limits for these toxins in cereals. The EC also requires that growers are advised of Good Agricultural Practice in order to meet the limits set. This project provided separate codes of practice for the reduction of fusarium mycotoxins and ochratoxin A, for distribution to growers and advisers in the UK..
