Development and validation of a method for the analysis of antioxidants in foods

This research project built on a previous Food Standards Agency funded project, which developed a method for the extraction and quantification of antioxidants in foods (Project A01020).
This project aimed to refine the method developed in A01020, as necessary, and then to proceed to full validation by collaborative trial. The developed method of analysis will be suitable for routine use in general analytical laboratories and be extended to cover the analysis of the recently approved additive tert-butylhydroquinone (TBHQ).
